Throwback Track Thursday: Kehlani x 1st Position

It's actually Friday right now but .... ANYWAY.

If I'm not mistaken, I think i've mentioned Kehlani in another post on here but if I haven't you should get to know her. She's pretty great.

She has two dope mixtapes: Cloud 19 and You Should be Here, the latter of the two is the chart climber and the one that is really putting Kehlani on the map. I love both EP's and recommend them both as MUST listens.

The track that I picked today is off the first EP and initially I never paid this song any attention at all. When I first listen to a collective, I tend to pick out favourite songs and rinse them out until I get sick of them. Then when I've done that I go back and listen to the whole album/mixtape again and find a hidden gem. This song is the one.

I can't believe it wasn't a first pick when I first got the EP. It's just the type of song I like; the bass, the beat, the melody. It ticks all of my boxes!

The lyrics are actually aimed at a girl which is awesome. I love these new wave artists like Kehlani and The internet, who arent afraid to flaunt their sexuality in their music!

The song was a part of her 8 track EP 'Cloud 19' that was released in August 2014 and at the beginning of this year she released the music video for it. Watch and listen below!
