Let me introduce you to the 19 year old, Brooklyn singer Justine Skye. If you follow me on twitter or the 'gram you'll know that I'm just a little obsessed with her and her music.

You may have seen her around before, the soon-to-be 20 year old is friends with a bunch of famous kids: Kylie and Kendall Jenner, Luka Sabbat and Ian Connor just to name a few. But Justine first started getting noticed in 2011 when she released a cover of Drake's Headlines on youtube. After that she debuted with an EP called Everyday living which is when I first got into her sound. Since then she's been signed to Atlantic records and recently just released a new project called 'Emotionally Unavailable'.

She's young, stunning and talented and yet still incredibly humble. I can only hope that she moves on to big things in the future! I'm gonna list a few songs of hers that I think you should listen to, so check them out below.

1. Hard Work

This was and still is my favourite song off the Everyday Living EP. I played it on repeat for months on end. For me, this song had a very '90's meets Now' type of feel to it, which is why I loved it so much!

2. Collide

If you ignore the fact that Tyga was on half of the song, it's amazing. And even with him on it, it's still pretty good. I really like the lyrics to this song, and I think it's a song that fits her voice so well.

3.Never Leave

You know when you go back and listen to an album or EP that you haven't heard in a while and find that you like a song so much more than you used to? Well this is it for me. I don't know why I slept on it so much the first time around!

4. I'm Yours ft. Vic Mensa

This is off the new album 'Emotionally Unavailable' and its such a feel good track that every time I listen to it, it puts me in a good mood. I'm not particularly that fond of Vic Mensa but he does do this track justice so it's a thumbs up from me.

5. Anticipation ft. Kranium

So if you didn't know Justine Skye is a Jamaican American, both parents are from Jamaica so it's only natural that she would have a dancehall/reggae inspired track on her new album! This time she enlisted the help of the newly popular Dancehall artist Kranium who is known for his track 'Nobody Has To Know' which you've probably heard, it was playing EVERYWHERE a few months back. He's actually been signed to Atlantic Records too, so it's cool that the two labelmates got to work together.

Well I hope this post will have converted a couple of you guys into fans and I'll definitely keep you posted on any new music from our little purple unicorn. By the way, she's called a purple unicorn because her hair is ALWAYS purple. ALWAYS.

Happy listening!

x'o
