New Artist Alert: Cheska!

What is it with rappers and their girlfriends being talented over in South Korea? First Crucial Star and his girl Heize and now Lil Boi's girlfriend Francesca Ahn is another singer who has recently popped up on my radar.

She prefers to go by the name Cheska and I happened to stumble across her on souncloud one day. I follow a producer called Duplex G; he always posts and reposts mixes of songs that I like so when he uploaded a song called Panorama, I took a listen.

I think it only took me 10 seconds to like it. You know when you just get that feeling at the beginning of a song and you know you'll love it? It was like that.

After I heard Cheska sing (in a good balance of english and korean by the way) I immediately started to research about her. Not only did I find out that she's a Korean American and Lil Boi's girlfriend, I also found out that she used to be a member of the idol girl group Fiestar! What was even more surprising was that they had her as a rapper when she clearly likes to sing. I don't know the reason for her departure from the group but if it allows her to make music like Panorama, I'm happy for her.
