Get to know: Heize!

It's time for you guys to get to know Heize (pronounced Hayze)!! I've been going on about this girl ever since I stumbled across her mixtape and it's finally time for her to get some recognition.

So you may or may not have heard me mention her before (I listed her as one of my top 8 artists on the kpop page) but if you have, most people know her as popular rapper Crucial Star's girlfriend. On top of them being a super cute couple, Heize is actually one of my favourite korean female artists. She can sing, she can rap and to top it off I think she's stunning!

Just this morning I found out that she'll be appearing on the second season of MNET's female rap competition 'Unpretty Rapstar' and I'm so excited! I didn't really plan on watching at all but now that she's on it, I supposed I'll have to put myself through the torture of having to see San E's face. Yuk.

I'll do a short fact file on her (because I only know a little bit about her) and then I'll link in her songs that I think you should listen to.

So:

- She's a 91 liner, she actually just had her 24th birthday a couple of weeks ago.

- She debuted in 2014 with a self titled EP

- Her instagram is: HeizeHeize

- She's close with Saero (who I did a post on about a month ago) and they worked together for a track on Tricky's album

- She has a twitter (@heizeseason) but she doesn't tweet on it so ... yeah.

Let's get into the music!

1. I Know

This was the first song I heard from Heize and I loved it immediately. It's a good showcase of both her singing and her laid back rap. I think I played it everyday for at least 3 months back then, and it's still one of my favourite songs of hers. This is the 3rd track from the debut EP which you can download here. 2. A Little More Wandering ft. Crucial Star

Don't quite quote me on the english title of the song, that's just what I found the translation to be lol. Anyway, this is a collaboration between Heize and her man Crucial Star. Isn't that cute? Both of them sing and rap on this track and I think their voices bounce of each other so well. This song is on the EP too!

3. My Boyfriend, Thank You.

This is now my all time favourite song from Heize! It was released at the beginning of this year and as the title explains it's a song dedicated to Crucial. Awwwww. I really like the way she raps on this track and it's probably the first one I like where she rapped more than she sang.

4. Hyobin- Hug Me ft Heize

Heize is only on this song as a rap feature but she still stands out and does her thing. This is a cute song from a singer called Hyobin. She does a lot of covers of idol songs and sang a version of Giriboy's 'Skit' with Giriboy himself and Swings. You may have seen her cover Winner's 'Empty' with a guy called Stimmarvel, that's where I first heard her.

5. Pume Sweet Pume ft. Monokim

This is the most recent song from Heize, and I'm just in love with her voice on this. I don't know Monokim but I like his voice too!

I'm hoping that she'll release another EP or album soon because I'm honestly a fan! Hopefully, she'll do well on Unpretty Rapstar and we can hear more from her!
