The Shade of it all: Drake responds to Meek On 'Back To Back'.

Good morning! And what a beautiful day to be alive!!

As I'm writing this I'm literally grinning from ear to ear. You lot know I'm petty and live for the drama. And twitter has been full of it lately!

So unless you've been living under a rock, you probably know that a couple of days ago Meek Mill went on a twitter rant and accused Drake of not writing his own raps.

Let me just start by saying, I have never liked Meek Mill. I never understood the hype around him because all this guy does is yell and scream on his tracks and I can't stand overly loud people. He's always been my least favourite Maybach Music member and this dude ALWAYS has a problem with somebody. Not too long ago, he was ranting about how label mate Wale isn't supportive of him. Which is what this whole Drake situation is down to if you ask me. He was mad that Drake didn't tweet anything about his album and made a comment about how he wants people to stop comparing him to Drake.

First of all, Ma'am who in their right mind would compare you to Drake? The two rappers are in COMPLETELY different leagues.

Second of all, Drake featured on one of your tracks. There's your support boy, hush.

Anyway, apparently he accused a rapper called Quentin Miller of being Drake's ghostwriter and the shameful thing is, is that Quentin himself said he is not. Infact, he even wrote a string of tweets explaining how he is not. *Insert Meek Mill's wide eyed surprise face* So what now my noisy friend?

Meek then released a diss track called Beautiful Nightmare, which is basically just the sound of him screaming - sounded awfully similar to the rest of his music if you ask me, but whatever.

Now, if you were around for the Drake vs Kendrick Lamar beef, then like me you were probably under the illusion that Drake wouldn't diss back. He's more of a 'throw subtle shade' kinda guy rather than directly addressing the issue. I mean, he liked an instagram post where Krept or Konan, I don't know which one, replaced a Fader magazine that had Meek on the cover with one with a cover of Skepta instead. I really didn't expect him to come back with anything else but then he went and dropped 3 new tracks...

The one I paid the most attention to was Charged Up, and like I said, Drake would never directly address Meek but there were lines that threw shade. You can listen here but you can tell from the lyrics that it's pretty much about Meek.

“Done doing favors for people/ ‘Cause it ain’t like I need the money I make off a feature/ I see you n***** having trouble going gold/ Turning into some so-and-sos that no one knows.

While performing at girlfriend Nicki Minaj's show, Meek chose to address the track, calling it 'baby lotion soft' and stating he's still 'the realest in this bitch'. Like ... Okay Meek, Okay. This whole thing is making me side eye Nicki too, like that's your man and that's great but you're on stage letting him slander your labelmate who you KNOW is the better rapper.

Moving on to today ...

Drake released 'Back to Back' a few hours ago and I'm STILL listening. It just makes me smile, like YAAAAAASSS Aubrey, tell him what's good! Let me just go ahead and highlight the parts that gave me life.

"When I look back I might be mad that I gave this attention." - True, one should never fight with lessers but sometimes it's necessary.

"I'm not sure what it was that really made y'all mad but i guess this is what I gotta do to make y'all rap." - Needs must, Aubrey.

"Trigger fingers turn to twitter fingers/ You getting bodied by a singing n****" - WELLLLLLLL.

"and shouts to all my boss bitches wifing n*****/ make sure you hit him with a pre-nup/ damn, tell that man to ease up"

"I don't wanna hear about this ever again/ not even when she tell him that they better as friends" - Nicki probably won't like that. But to be fair, she cant be too mad. He did call her a boss bitch.

I can only hope that this is the end of this mess, because that's what it is, messy. Drake has so many other bigger and better things he could be doing. Nicki too.

However, I feel like we could possibly be hearing something from Nicki soon? Hopefully not though. Let's just all pray that Meek Mill will shut his mouth once and for all.
